A Florida native, Dr. Joseph R. Hartigan has been with North Florida Surgeons since 1996. Dr. Hartigan earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Florida (’85) and his medical degree from the University of South Florida before completing General Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis.
A Board Certified General Surgeon, Dr. Hartigan says it’s the thrill of operating that keeps him active in a general surgery practice and as a member of the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital. When he’s not in surgery, Dr. Hartigan enjoys spending time with his wife and three young sons, reading, playing golf, and rooting for the Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
